Ida Mae Boyd What If You Are A Beginner... Can You Make Money On The Internet?

I will answer that question right up front, I have met many people that have started making money on the Internet in a very short time. So the answer is yes you can make money on the Internet even if you are just starting. I am not saying most people starting an Internet business will make money in their first few months, but there are a few that do.

The biggest reason most beginners fail to make money on the Internet in their first year is they jump from one program to another. The second biggest problem is they are not willing to spend the small amount of money it takes to get their Internet business going, or they spend that money in the wrong place. I don't want to offend anyone, but the next reason most beginners fail to make money the first year is they are lazy, like I said I don't want to offend you, but most people are lazy, including myself.

What Will It Take To Help Beginners...

If you are just starting don't fall into the trap a lot of beginners fall into. Before you begin go to a search engine and do a search for a business or Internet marketing forum. Spend some time in the forum just reading and get some idea of what your interest are. Once you have made up your mind you should focus in that area and not be led into some get rich quick program. It may look good, but remember the biggest mistake you can make is jumping from one thing to another.

Are You Ready To Spend Some Money?

Ok, this is where we start spending a little money. You may think the best place to spend your money would be on some program that already has a website built for you, because you don't know how to build a website. Don't do that! You want to look for something that will teach you how to build a website, there are many to choose from, some are better that others, when you find something you like, instead of buying it, go you your forum and ask if anyone has bought that product and if they are satisfied with it.

Now that you are focused and have all the information you need to get started it's time to stop being lazy, because you will need to drive floods of targeted traffic to your website. I didn't say just any traffic, I said targeted traffic. I also said massive, that doesn't mean 50 visitors a day, that means 200 to 300 targeted visitors a day to start. Finding that amount of traffic will require working every day when you are beginning, it may get a little easier later, but starting it will take a lot of work every single day.

If you can follow the instructions in this article you should be able to make money on the Internet within a year, If you are a fast learner you may be one of the lucky ones and be making money in as little as 3 months. Stay away from the get rich quick programs and be willing to learn. Work hard, never give up and ask for help when you need it. You Can Do It!

Good Luck!

I will be adding additional Post, so be sure to come back and check my Blog often.

Ida Mae Boyd Explains Search Engine Marketing (SEM)

Search Engine Marketing is all about optimizing paid traffic sources.

If you are familiar with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and organic visibility, but just do not have the time to develop that presence on the Web. Then your solution is to consider paying for your traffic to come to your website, or paying for leads, and there are many different ways to get that traffic to your website.

Depending on your niche, and what your prospects are looking for you will have to engage in that forum in order to get them to your site by advertising.

Search Listings - allow you to place ads in the sponsored sections when people type in a keyword in the search engine.

Content Network advertising - allow you to place ads within other people websites, targeted by their relevance to your product.

Social Media Advertising - allows you to place ads within the coffee shop of online networking, targeting groups of people by their likes and interests.

Remarketing - Is a strategy whereby you hone in and re advertise to people that have already shown an interest in your site by their behavior, for example when they leave a shopping cart. Geographies, Behavioral, Time zones, all come into play on where you will pick up the traffic.

Within each type of advertising field, there are different methods of bidding on Pay-Per-Click (PPC) being the most understood. But depending on whether you are seeking brand awareness, or distributing a cheap offer, bidding may be set up as Cost per thousand impressions(CPM) (for the number of impressions rather than clicks your ad is shown) or Cost Per Action (CPA) (bidding where you only pay for acquisition of a goal being a sign up or lead)

Running an ad campaign can require careful analytics to optimize the click-through, and this is easier done through an agent acting on your behalf, as managing an advertising campaign can distract you from looking after your own business.

Ida Mae Boyd What Is an Autoresponder?

Well! An Auto Responder is a Software or Hardware System that enables you to send email messages to people automatically.

This does not mean that it writes the email messages for you and it does not involve spam or sending unsolicited email messages.

What it means is that you set up a sequence of email messages that are sent out to your prospects/leads that are in your database at regular intervals.

The importance of this cannot be underestimated. Time and time again Internet marketing gurus tell you that the money is in the list. This is not by accident.

The online marketing specialists know that this is fact. The more people you have on your mailing list that is interested in your products and/or services, the more sales you will get.

You can use an autoresponder to essentially send emails out to your contact list, even when you’re not at your computer. What you will do is to create, a least, seven email messages.

Then you can set the intervals for the email messages to go out, once a day and send them one part of a training course each day.

So you write the email messages one time and then anyone joining that list will automatically be sent those email messages for the next seven days.

This does not matter if you are online or if you are away from your computer. They will get sent automatically. Prospects or leads are also added to the list automatically. And if they choose to unsubscribe, the autoresponder will take care this without you having to lift a finger.

The main benefit to using an autoresponder is that the majority of people need to be told about a product/service at least seven times before they will buy it.

So I want to ask you, how many times are you telling your visitors about your product? Is it less than seven times?

They all land on your homepage or somewhere else on your website and they will look at your offer, but the majority of your sites visitors will disappear.

So unless you can get them onto an opt-in mailing list, for a free training course or free information that is of multi-part format, the chances are you will have lost them forever.

You can use an autoresponder to send these messages out to people with their permission convincing them and educating them about your product.

This is simply a form of permission marketing. People will give you their permission to receive emails in return for you giving them free, quality information.

Do not load the messages with over-hyped sales pitches, but give them real quality information with a small mention about your product at the end.

What you will find is that people come to know you and grow to trust you over time as you send them more and more information.

The longer you can maintain this relationship with them, the more likely they are to actually buy from you.

The beauty of this is that using an autoresponder saves you the costs of printing, posting and packaging and enables you to contact and keep in touch with all your leads around the clock without you actually having to do anything new.

Check out the auto responder video that I did to show you how to basically setup an auto responder.

Ida Mae Boyd What is some SEO Techniques Every Internet Marketer Should Know

Every Internet Marketer should know the basic SEO techniques that I will be covering in this post.

You want to achieve Top Rankings for your website and blog in Google, Yahoo and Bing. The more you know about these Search Engine Optimization techniques; the better your web pages and blog posts will benefit in the different search engines.

Optimizing your pages for the search engines should be your number one priority because conquering and dominating your chosen keywords is often cited as one of the major determining factors in the success of your online business. You must have a basic understanding of how SEO can work for you and your website.

The following are some SEO Tips that will help you to get a decent rating in the major search engines:

Title Tag

The Title Tag is located at the top of the html page and it tells the search engines what your page is about.

When you open a page in a browser these are the words at the very top of the screen. The title tag is essential to on page optimization; it should include your main keywords and it length is approximately 66 characters long. The tile is displayed in the upper left hand corner of the browser’s window.

Many SEO experts create web pages in a three tear approach. They place the title in:

  • The title tag
  • On the webpage itself
  • URL for that page

Sometimes they will just pick the main keywords from the title and place them in the anchor URL instead.

An example of this is [http://www.yourwebsite.com/keywords.html]

Meta Description Tag

The Meta Tag contains the description for your web page.

Your description will show up in all search engines results reports so you should write exactly what your website is about.

It should be approximately 150 characters or around 20 words. Make sure to include your keywords but do not overdo it please do not spam it; do not repeat your keywords more than twice, using variations would be very helpful.

Keep in mind, successful Internet Marketers make their descriptions stand out from the crowd and entice the surfer to click on their link. It is also the first contact with your potential prospects so you could try to make a good first impression.

Anchor Tag or URL

The anchor tag is used to create links within your website or from website to website. This tag should have your title or the main keywords from your page title to be the most effective.

Anchor text is also important to know, these are the underlined, clickable text or words in a link.

If you want to check Google for all web pages containing your keywords in the anchor tags.

Do a Google Search on allinanchor:yourkeywords

Finding Backlinks

One of the keys to higher rankings is building quality links from relevant related quality sites. The search engines especially Google, counts each link as a "vote" for your website or its content. It is suggested that you include your main keywords in the anchor text of these inbound links in order to rank high.

If you want to find the number of backlinks your site has do a Google Search on link:yourURL and it will give you the number of backlinks that you have.

Google does not give you all of your existing backlinks, so you can try Yahoo! to find a more exact number.

Do a Yahoo search on linkdomain:yourURL

Checking Indexed Pages

If is very important for you to know what content the search engines have indexed from your website. You can also check to see how your links are displayed and to see if any titles or descriptions are missing from your pages.

You can see how many of your pages are indexed in Google by using the site command.

Do a Google Search on site:yourURL

Another way to look at your pages in Google is to type in "http://yoursite" and "http://www.yoursite" with the quotation marks to see the exact number of listings for each one.

Checking Google Cache

You can also check to see the Google Cache for your website by using the cache command. You will also discover when it was last retrieved.

Do a Google Search on cache:yourURL

Finding Associated Keywords

Keywords are the heart of the Internet; you must dominate the search engines for your chosen keywords if you are to succeed online.

You must be able to find variations of your keywords to completely dominate your targeted niche. To find what other keywords Google has associated with your main keywords, just use the tilde ~ command to find associated phrases in Google.

Do a Google search with ~keywords

Variations will be highlighted in bold colors.

Finding Titled Keywords

If you want to find competing sites that have your keywords in the title use the allintitle command.

Do a Google search on allintitle:yourkeywords

If you used these basic SEO techniques consistently, I believe it will help improve your rankings and keep you in the picture with regards to your standings in the search engines.

Your website's stats or raw traffic logs will also confirm the rise or fall of your keyword rankings. You must have knowledge of both your website and your keywords in the search engines, especially Google.

Since Google will deliver most of your quality traffic, (organic traffic) you must optimize for it and be aware of what is happening to your website and keywords within Google. This is yet another example where knowledge equals success.

Ida Mae Boyd what is a Traffic Exchange?

A traffic exchange is a traffic generation system that enables you to drive targeted traffic to your website, blog, affiliate link, business opportunity, etc.

This is How Traffic Exchanges Work

The way traffic exchanges work is very simple.

The system is based on credits.

One credit, generally, is equal to one visitor to your website. You can earn credits in one of two ways:

1. You can get credits by surfing.

Surfing is a term that means viewing other people’s websites. When you view another person’s website, you generally get a fraction of a credit.

That is, you will receive something like one third of a credit, for surfing one page at most top rated traffic exchanges. Now, you do not need to be a math guru to figure this out, though.

It is really simple.

We call this the surf ratio, or the numbers of sites you have to look at before you earn one credit. Most traffic exchanges have a three to one surf ratio, meaning viewing three sites earns you a single credit.

But, I will go a little bit more in depth with surfing in a little bit.

First, I need to discuss the other way to earn credits:

2. You can purchase credits for a small fee.

If you do not have the time to surf for credits, or you would rather spend that time doing something else, then this could be an option for you. This is the option that I use.

Most traffic exchanges offer 1,000 credits (1,000 visitors to your website) for anywhere from $5 to $15. This is truly the cheapest traffic I have found that is targeted to the Make Money Online niche.

Surfing Traffic Exchanges

Surfing traffic exchanges is very easy but it can be time consuming.

Most traffic exchanges have something called a surf bar.

This is just a name for a little group of pictures and/or words at the top or bottom of your screen that you must click on to validate that you are a person who is surfing and not some automated tool. You must click on the picture and/or words to get the credit for viewing the website.

Email Marketing - How Often Should You Email Your List?

Now this is a very good question I wished that I had thought of it when I started marketing on the Web. Perhaps I would have a larger contact list by now. LOL

I really think it depends on what you said when you got your contacts to sign up and what you said they will get and how often.

If they subscribe for Internet Marketing (tips and tricks) newsletters, you may have say weekly or monthly. So in this case you would send out a newsletter weekly or monthly. You have to make sure that you send quality content.

Remember, the reasons why you are doing this hopefully you are trying to build a business relationship with the people on your contact list.

If it gets to a point when your content is duplicated from other newsletters, old stuff, your subscriber will be began to unsubscribe from your list.

Another thing to remember is not to start promoting your business opportunities and other stuff, to them.

If your subscribes signed up to receive Internet marketing Newsletters changes are they want to learn about Internet Marketing (tips, tricks, How to do, etc) and perhaps they are internet marketers too, so guess what they have they own business opportunity. Trust me they do not want to hear about yours right away maybe after the 7th newsletter you may mention your business opportunity to them. Yes! It takes a long time to build business relationships with the people on your contact list.

I would say that after 7 weeks of sending quality information to your list, based on what they signed up for I think you have started to built up (know, like and trust) with them and you have provided them with your online contact information for example your Skype name, etc., during this time.

By then you probably can start sending your email messages to them weekly or so.

Think about it, how often would you like to get email messages from people you do not know?

Ida Mae Boyd Explains What Safelists Are

Basically a safelist is a group of people who have agreed to exchanges email.

They agree to receive email messages from all the others members in exchange for the opportunity to send your own.

This concept has many benefits; the following are two of them.

  1. One very good thing is that it is spam free because people have to double opt-in to the safelist and therefore agrees to receiving your email, should someone decides that the safe list mail is spam anyway it is not really your problem because the mail is not sent from your email address or server.
  2. The second benefit is quite clear but many people cannot see it, most people who participate in safelist are entrepreneurs so they have a lot in common.

For example they both have something to sell. This is the reason why I use safelists.

So we can say that a safelist is a closed community where it is safe for members to exchange email.

Safelist can be a good starting place for marketers who are starting out in the Internet Marketing arena.

You may have the opportunity of soliciting other marketers who may need the products and/or services that you are marketing.

Ida Mae Boyd Explains the Automated Internet Marketing System That She Uses

As you know I am an Internet Marketer and I thought that I should tell you about the Automated Internet Marketing System and Tools that I use daily.

The reason why I am sharing this with you is because this system has enabled me to be able to perform other major Internet Marketing tasks such as writing keyword rich content for my websites and blogs.

I no longer have to go out to the local supermarkets to post flyers on bulletin broads, hand out business cards, cold call prospective clients, and create and update my contact lists manually.

By having an integrated automated Internet Marketing and lead generation system it will do many of the tasks that I mentioned above for you once you configure it to do specific tasks such as sending out newsletters, announcements, and flyers, capturing leads, maintaining your contact lists, etc.

The Automated Internet Marketing Services and Lead Generation System, that I use is named Veretekk and it is an advanced system.

This system is incredible; it took more than 10 years to design and develop.

The goal of the developers was to develop a system that would enable the average Internet Marketer to perform all of the daily tasks that must be done.

Some of these tasks are:

  • Sending Out messages automatically via an autoresponder
  • Capturing prospective Leads and storing them into a database
  • Maintaining contact lists
  • And so much more!

Ida Mae Boyd Explains the Fundamentals of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Okay! Now Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is another phrase that you hear quite often in the world of Internet Marketing.

Believe me you really have to understand what this is. I am going to do my best to break it down so you will understand it.

Here we go; you have a website or blog that you want to get traffic to, so how do you do it?

You can pay for the traffic or you can implement SEO techniques to get organic (free) traffic from Google, Yahoo, BING, etc.

Search Engine Optimization is designing your website or Blog in such a way that the search engine can determine if the content that you have on your website is relevant based on what is being searched for by a person’s search request.

Example:

Let’s say that you are looking for a cherry pie recipe. So you go to Google and search for cherry pie recipe. Now what Google is going to do is look for websites that are indexed in its databases that have cherry pie recipe in the Title, Description, and Keywords that are recorded in the header section of your website.

Next Google will look at the content that is on the website, still looking for the phrase cherry pie recipe. Now, based on numerous algorithms and other things Google will determine if your website is relevant to what is being search for.

Based on this information, Google will place the link of that website that it feels is very relevant on page 1 of the search results.

Page 1 is where you want to be because people who search the web look at the links on page 1 and 2 and if they do not see what they are looking on these pages they will move on.

Websites that are listed on page one of Google, Yahoo, BING, etc. will get a lot of organic (free) traffic to their website/blog.

So, now you can see why Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is so important.

I would highly recommend that you learn all you can about how to optimize your websites and blogs.

My very good friend and colleague Mr. Butch Hamilton, is known for his expertise in the field of Search Engine Optimization and he is a successful Internet Marketer.

Ida Mae Boyd Talks About Internet Marketing Terms and Acronyms

Now! Learning about Internet Marketing Terms and Acronyms was a major obstacle that I had to overcome when I started to learn about Internet Marketing. I am sure you can identify with this too. Right!

Here is an example as to what I mean, Affiliate Marketing, Hosting, and Search Engine Optimization, SEO, Auto Responders, and the list goes on and on.

You will have to learn the Internet Marketing language in order to communicate and to understand the world of Internet marketing.
